Tummy Tuck Package in Turkey: What Should It Include?
Medical editor: Dr. Semih Yıldız, plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgeon (FEBOPRAS) · Last updated: October 2026
A tummy tuck package in Turkey should spell out the operation, the anaesthesia, the hospital nights, the compression garment, your medicines, the check-ups during about 10 days in Istanbul and the follow-up after you fly home. Anything else should be stated clearly as included or not, so that nothing rests on assumptions. Dr. Semih Yıldız quotes two figures: a surgical price for the medical care in Istanbul, and a full package price that adds your hotel, VIP transfers and a companion's accommodation.
The medical part follows the plan described for tummy tuck in Istanbul: general anaesthesia, an operation of about 2–4 hours, two nights in hospital and a compression garment for around 6 weeks. Before booking with Dr. Semih Yıldız, you receive a personalised plan and a written quotation that sets out what the package includes. Here is what each part of such a plan should cover.
The operation itself
A package that only says “tummy tuck” leaves the most important detail open. The plan should name:
The technique: mini, full, with 360 liposuction, with a Brazilian butt lift, or fleur-de-lis or belt lipectomy after major weight loss
Whether separated abdominal muscles will be repaired
The areas of liposuction: the abdomen, which is part of a full tummy tuck as standard, or also the flanks and lower back
Any other procedure in the same operation, such as breast surgery
The surgeon who operates and the hospital where the operation takes place
If the face-to-face examination shows that a different technique is needed, for example a full rather than a mini tummy tuck, the change and the reason for it should be confirmed in writing before surgery rather than decided on the day.
Anaesthesia, tests and hospital nights
General anaesthesia is given by an anaesthetist, and standard pre-operative blood tests come first so that the operation can go ahead safely; both are part of the surgical price. If you have a condition such as diabetes, extra tests or another specialist's opinion may be needed, and tests needed because of a pre-existing condition are charged separately at the hospital's rates. Ask which recent results or letters from your own doctor you should bring.
Patients stay two nights (48 hours) in hospital after a full tummy tuck, including one combined with liposuction or a Brazilian butt lift, and the surgical price includes both nights. If your team advises another one, for example when a drain is still collecting a lot of fluid, the extra night is charged separately at the hospital's rates. Drains are placed at the end of the operation and removed later during your stay.
Garments, medicines and dressings
These items look small next to the operation, but you will use them every day, and all of them are part of the surgical price:
The compression garment, worn for about 6 weeks, and any pillows you need during recovery. A second garment makes washing easier, so mention it when your plan is drawn up, and ask whether the fit can be adjusted as the swelling goes down.
Medicines to take home, such as painkillers, and anything else prescribed for you. If your clot risk calls for blood-thinning injections, they should be listed too.
Dressings for the incision and the drain sites, with instructions for changing them.
Care during your stay
A typical stay of about 10 days starts with arrival and your first face-to-face visit on day 1, followed by the final consultation and surgery on day 2. After discharge you recover at your hotel and come back for check-ups, dressing changes, drain removal and any stitch removal, all part of the surgical price. By around day 7–10 most patients have their drains out, their wounds checked and clearance to fly. The plan should say how many check-ups are planned and who sees you. Lymphatic drainage massage and private nursing support are optional extras that the clinic can arrange through partner providers.
Between scheduled visits, you can reach the team 24/7 by WhatsApp or phone, so a drain that stops working, a dressing that soaks through or swelling that increases suddenly can be reported at any hour, including at night. Knowing this in advance makes the hotel days much calmer.
Aftercare once you are home
The first weeks at home are part of the treatment, not an extra. Once you are home, the team follows your progress through photos and video calls and advises you on scar care. Before you travel, confirm:
When the first remote check-ins are planned
How a late fluid collection (seroma) or a slow-healing area would be handled
Which documents you take home, such as an operation summary and a medicine list
Revisions are assessed individually once the result has settled. If Dr. Semih Yıldız considers a revision medically appropriate, he charges no additional surgeon's fee; operating-room and material costs are charged at cost, without a mark-up. Changes that come later with time and tissue ageing count as a new operation.
What the full package adds
The practical side of the trip is arranged very differently from one clinic to another. Here, the full package price adds three items to the surgical price:
Hotel accommodation in one of the clinic's partner hotels; at the Antwell, nurses are on hand 24/7 and a coordinator visits every day
VIP transfers between the airport, the hotel and the hospital
Accommodation for a companion who travels with you
Whichever price you choose, the hotel should be close to the hospital, because you return for check-ups and drain removal. Flights are not part of either price, and neither is insurance: travel and medical insurance are your own responsibility, and standard policies often exclude complications of planned surgery, so check your cover. Consultations are held in English; an interpreter can be arranged for an additional fee. None of these items changes the operation itself, so weigh them after the medical parts of the plan, not before.
What to confirm in writing before you travel
Your dates: arrival and consultation on day 1, surgery on day 2, and the earliest day to fly home
Which of the two prices you have chosen, and a written list of what it includes
What happens if the face-to-face examination changes the plan
The conditions for changing the date or cancelling
Contact details for the team during your stay and after you return
When you compare plans, compare the operation and the aftercare first: the technique, muscle repair, areas of liposuction, hospital nights and follow-up. A long list of extras counts for much less than these. A clear written plan also avoids surprises in a city far from home. The techniques and timings it should match are listed on our abdominoplasty page.
Frequently asked questions
Is the hotel part of a tummy tuck package?
It is part of the full package price, not of the surgical price. The full package adds a partner hotel, VIP transfers and accommodation for a companion; at the Antwell, nurses are on hand 24/7. If you choose the surgical price only, book a hotel close to the hospital: you recover there after two nights in hospital and return for check-ups, so a lift, a comfortable bed and a short trip to appointments matter more than extras.
What if I need to stay longer than planned?
Sometimes the drains need a few more days, or a check-up shows that it is wiser to wait before flying. An extra night in hospital is charged separately at the hospital's rates; ask beforehand how an extra hotel night or a later flight would be arranged, and book a ticket you can change. Planning for some flexibility is far easier than changing a fixed ticket at short notice.
Is a revision included if I need one later?
Revisions are assessed individually, usually only after the result has settled, often after several months. If a small correction, such as a scar revision or treatment of a fold at the end of the scar, is considered medically appropriate, no additional surgeon's fee is charged; operating-room and material costs are charged at cost. Later changes that come with time and tissue ageing count as a new operation.
