Breast augmentation package in Turkey: what should it include?

A breast augmentation package should be a written plan that names every part of your treatment: the operation and technique, the surgeon, the implant, anaesthesia, the hospital night, the surgical bra, medication, check-ups in Istanbul and follow-up once you are home. It should state just as clearly what it leaves out. Settle all of it in writing before you book a flight. Dr. Semih Yıldız quotes two figures: a surgical price for the medical care in Istanbul, and a full package price that adds your hotel, transfers and a companion’s stay.

For breast augmentation in Istanbul, this plan arrives with the written quotation that follows a free online assessment, before anything is booked. The checklist below shows what each line of a package should tell you and which questions to settle before you travel.

The operation itself

The first part of the plan describes the surgery. These details should leave no room for doubt:

  • Procedure: breast augmentation with silicone implants, plus any combined step, such as fat transfer or a lift, named explicitly

  • Technique and incision: the standard operation or the Motiva Preserve technique, and where the incision will be

  • Surgeon: the name of the surgeon who examines you and performs the operation

  • Anaesthesia: general anaesthesia, with the standard pre-operative blood tests that go with it

  • Hospital: the name of the hospital; one night (24 hours) of monitoring is standard

  • Extra tests: whether a breast ultrasound or mammogram is needed first, as it may be if you are over 40 or have a family history of breast disease, and where it is done

If fat transfer is part of the plan, it should also say where the fat will be taken from and whether you will need a compression garment for that area. If a lift is added, the expected scar pattern should be described too.

The surgical price covers the operation, the anaesthesia, the standard blood tests and the planned night in hospital. Extra hospital nights, or extra tests needed because of a pre-existing condition, are charged separately at the hospital’s rates.

Your implants on paper

The implant stays with you long after the package has ended, so it deserves more than a line saying “silicone implants”. The plan should name the manufacturer (Motiva implants are the default choice), the shape, round or ergonomic, and the planned profile and range of volumes. A range rather than a single number is normal before you travel, because the final volume is confirmed with sizers at your face-to-face consultation with Dr. Semih Yıldız. If it helps you decide, a 3D simulation is available during the consultation.

After the operation, you should leave with an implant card or record showing the type, volume and serial number of each implant, and with a copy of your operation note. Years later, these documents allow any doctor to identify, check or replace an implant.

Recovery items: bra, medication and check-ups

A typical stay lasts about seven days. You arrive on day 1 and have your first face-to-face visit, the final consultation and the operation follow on day 2, and the remaining days are for recovery and check-ups. These items are part of the surgical price:

  • Surgical bra: fitted at the end of the operation and worn day and night for four to six weeks; a spare makes washing easier, so mention it when your plan is drawn up

  • Medication: painkillers and any other medicines for home, with clear instructions

  • Check-ups in Istanbul: wound checks, dressings and any stitch removal, up to the final check around day seven that clears you to fly

After surgery, you can reach the team 24/7 by WhatsApp or phone.

Aftercare once you fly home

Recovery continues for weeks after the flight: the surgical bra phase lasts four to six weeks, and the final shape takes three to six months to appear. A package should therefore say how follow-up continues at home, for example with photos and video calls, and at which points. It should also explain what happens if something needs attention after you leave: who reviews photos of a reddened wound or a swollen breast, and whether treatment would take place in Istanbul or closer to home.

Revisions are assessed individually. If Dr. Semih Yıldız considers a revision medically appropriate, he charges no additional surgeon’s fee; operating-room, material and implant costs are charged at cost, without a mark-up. Changes that come later with time and tissue ageing, such as breasts that sag again years afterwards, count as a new operation. Guidance on future implant check-ups belongs here too, because implants need monitoring over the years.

Travel items: what the full package adds

The full package price adds the practical side of the trip: hotel accommodation in one of the clinic’s partner hotels, VIP transfers between the airport, the hotel and the hospital, and accommodation for a companion. At the Antwell, one of the partner hotels, nurses are on hand 24/7 and a coordinator visits every day. If you choose the surgical price only and book the hotel yourself, a quiet place with a lift, close to the hospital, makes the first days easier.

Neither price includes flights or insurance. Insurance is your own responsibility, and ordinary travel insurance often excludes planned surgery and its complications, so read your policy before you travel and consider cover designed for treatment abroad. Consultations are held in English; if you would like an interpreter, one can be arranged for an additional fee. Private nursing support and lymphatic drainage massage are optional extras that the clinic can arrange through partner providers.

What the plan should ask of you

A good plan works in both directions: it also tells you how to prepare. Expect clear written instructions on:

  • stopping smoking and all nicotine products at least four weeks before surgery, and staying off them for four weeks afterwards

  • which medicines and supplements to pause, and when; blood thinners, aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil and some herbal products are typical examples

  • any imaging to arrange in advance, such as a breast ultrasound or mammogram

  • fasting before the operation

  • what to bring: previous medical reports, a list of your medicines and loose, front-fastening clothes

If these instructions only arrive after you land, there is too little time to act on them.

What to confirm in writing before you travel

  1. The date of surgery, and when the consultation and pre-operative tests take place

  2. Which of the two prices you have chosen, and the written list of what it covers

  3. Payment terms, and what happens to money already paid if surgery is postponed for medical reasons

  4. How a change of plan is handled if the examination shows you need something different, such as a lift

  5. Consent forms and information about risks in a language you understand, ideally sent in advance

  6. Flights that bring you in on day 1, the day before surgery, and a return date that leaves time for the final wound check

A plan that names all of these is easier to trust and easier to compare. Implant options, the recovery timeline and the starting figures are on our breast augmentation procedure page.

Frequently asked questions

What if I need an extra night in hospital?

One night (24 hours) of monitoring is standard after breast augmentation and is included in the surgical price. A longer stay may be advised after a combined operation or if your recovery needs closer observation. Extra nights, like extra tests needed because of a pre-existing condition, are charged separately at the hospital’s rates, and the decision to stay longer is always a medical one.

Can the implant size still change after I arrive?

Yes, within limits. The plan states an implant type and a range of volumes, and the final volume is confirmed with sizers at the face-to-face consultation before surgery. A change within that range is part of normal planning; a request well outside it, or a different technique, means the plan has to be reassessed.

Should the face-to-face consultation be part of the package?

Yes, and it is built into the timeline. Photos are enough to plan, but not to operate. Your first face-to-face visit with the surgeon takes place on day 1, when you arrive, and the final consultation follows on day 2, before surgery. The pre-operative tests are done before the operation, and the final implant choice is confirmed with sizers, with a 3D simulation if it helps.

If you would like a written plan that names your implant, technique and aftercare, you can send front and side photos for a free online assessment.
