What is a temporal lift?
A temporal lift, also called a lateral brow lift or temporal forehead lift, lifts the outer part of the eyebrow and the temple tissues through small incisions hidden in the hair of the temples.
It gives a more focused change than a full brow lift and is often chosen to open up the outer eye area and soften a tired or sad look.

How the operation is performed
- Planning: your photos, medical history and goals are reviewed and the direction of the lift is agreed before the day of surgery.
- Anaesthesia: the operation is performed under local anaesthesia with sedation or general anaesthesia and usually takes 1–2 hours.
- Incisions: small incisions are made within the hair of the temples.
- Lifting: the outer brow and temple tissues are released, lifted and fixed in their new position.
- Closing: the incisions are closed with stitches or staples hidden in the hair.
- Aftercare: most patients go to their hotel on the same day.
Recovery timeline
First 2–3 days: Swelling and tightness around the temples and eyes peak. Keep your head elevated and use cold compresses.
Around day 7: Stitches are removed and most patients are cleared to fly home.
Days 7–10: Most patients return to desk work.
Weeks 2–3: Most of the bruising has faded and normal activities resume.
Month 1: Most of the swelling has settled and the lift looks natural.
Months 3–6: The final result appears as the tissues settle.
How to prepare
