Liposuction Package in Turkey: What Should It Include?
Medical editor: Dr. Semih Yıldız, plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgeon (FEBOPRAS) · Last updated: October 2026
A liposuction package in Turkey should spell out every medical part of your treatment in writing: the areas and technique, the anaesthesia, pre-operative tests, the hospital night, compression garments, medication, check-ups during your stay and follow-up once you are home. Dr. Semih Yıldız quotes two figures: a surgical price for this medical care in Istanbul, and a full package price that adds your hotel, VIP transfers and a companion's accommodation. Flights, insurance and an interpreter are not part of either.
Starting prices and techniques are set out on our page about liposuction in Istanbul. This post is the checklist behind a package: what each part should cover and which details to settle before you book flights.
The operation itself
The core of the package is the surgery, and it should be described precisely enough to leave no room for surprises. A line that simply says liposuction is not enough. The plan should name:
Each treatment area, for example lower abdomen, flanks and inner thighs
The technique: Vaser liposuction as standard, high-definition liposuction or Lipo 360; Vaser or J-Plasma technology is included in the surgical price
Fat transfer, if planned, and where the fat will go: buttocks, breasts or face
Any procedure combined with the liposuction, such as a tummy tuck
The surgeon who will perform the operation
Vague wording, such as thighs instead of inner and outer thighs, makes it hard to know later what was agreed. These details come from the assessment of your photos and medical history. They are confirmed in person before surgery, when the areas are drawn on your skin with you standing up.
Anaesthesia, tests and the hospital stay
Liposuction is performed under general anaesthesia or sedation, and the plan should say which is intended for you. Standard pre-operative blood tests are carried out before the operation to confirm that it is safe to go ahead. Both the anaesthesia and these tests are part of the surgical price.
The planned hospital stay is included too: one night (24 hours) under observation, after which most patients move to their hotel. Extra hospital nights, or extra tests needed because of a pre-existing condition, are charged separately at the hospital's rates. Check the name of the hospital, and whether a larger or combined operation in your plan calls for a longer stay.
Garments, medication and check-ups
The compression garment is part of the surgical price, together with pillows where your recovery calls for them. It is fitted at the end of the operation and worn for about 4–6 weeks. Many people find a second garment practical, so they can wash one while wearing the other; mention it when your plan is drawn up. If your plan includes the chin or the upper arms, you will also need a chin strap or arm sleeves, because a body garment does not cover those areas, so make sure the plan names them. Your take-home medication, usually painkillers and anything else prescribed for your recovery, is included as well.
A typical stay follows a set pattern. You arrive on day 1 and have your first face-to-face visit, the final consultation and surgery follow on day 2, and the rest of the 5–7 days is for recovery and check-ups. Check-ups, dressings and stitch removal are part of the surgical price. The wound checks are usually done by day 5–7, and that is when most patients get the go-ahead to fly home.
Aftercare once you are home
Recovery continues long after the flight. Swelling takes about 3 months to settle for the most part, and the contour keeps refining until 3–6 months, so the package should explain how follow-up works from home. Follow-up continues remotely through photos and video calls, and after surgery you can reach the team 24/7 by WhatsApp or phone.
Ask for a short written summary of your operation, listing the areas treated, the technique, the anaesthesia and your medication, to show your own doctor if you ever need to. Revisions are assessed individually. If Dr. Semih Yıldız considers a revision medically appropriate, he charges no additional surgeon's fee; operating-room and material costs are charged at cost, without a mark-up. Later changes that come with time and tissue ageing count as a new operation.
Agree in advance what happens if something needs to be seen in person after you have flown home, such as a fluid collection (seroma) that may need draining: whether photos are reviewed first, and when a local doctor should examine you. In an emergency, such as shortness of breath or chest pain, go straight to the nearest emergency department and take the operation summary with you.
What the full package adds, and what it leaves out
Some items are medical; others are practical, and the practical ones are where packages differ most between clinics. Here, the full package price adds three of them to the surgical price:
Hotel accommodation in one of the clinic's partner hotels; at the Antwell, nurses are on hand 24/7 and a coordinator visits every day
VIP transfers between the airport, the hotel and the hospital
Accommodation for a companion who travels with you
Whichever price you choose, check how far the hotel is from the hospital, because you return for check-ups. Flights are not included, and neither is insurance: travel and medical insurance are your own responsibility, so check what your policy covers. Consultations are held in English, and an interpreter can be arranged for an additional fee. Private nursing support and lymphatic drainage massage are optional extras that the clinic can arrange through partner providers. Time off work is yours to plan: allow about 5–7 days in Istanbul and 1–2 weeks away from desk work.
Confirm in writing before you travel
Before you book flights, make sure you have written answers on these points:
The date of surgery and the earliest date you can fly home
The hospital, the surgeon, and the areas and technique agreed
Which of the two prices you have chosen, and a written list of what it includes
Which medicines and supplements to pause, and when, such as blood thinners, aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil and some herbal remedies, and the date by which you stop smoking (at least 4 weeks before surgery)
What happens to the plan and the price if the examination in Istanbul changes it
Deposit and cancellation terms
With Dr. Semih Yıldız, you receive a personalised plan, the recommended treatment areas and a written quotation with clear package details before booking. More about the techniques and the recovery timeline is in our Vaser liposuction overview.
Frequently asked questions
Is lymphatic drainage massage part of a liposuction package?
Not as part of either price. Lymphatic drainage massage is an optional extra that the clinic can arrange through partner providers while you are in Istanbul. Some people find it eases tightness and swelling, although you will heal without it. If you would like sessions, say so early, so that the number and the earliest start after surgery can be written into your plan.
Is the compression garment included in the price?
Yes, the compression garment is part of the surgical price. It is worn for about 4–6 weeks, mostly day and night at first, so many people find a second one practical for washing; mention this when your plan is drawn up. Check, too, whether a different size may be needed later, as the swelling goes down.
What documents should I take home after liposuction?
Ask for a written summary of the operation that lists the treated areas, the technique, the type of anaesthesia and the medicines you were given or prescribed. If you need to see a doctor at home, it helps them understand quickly what was done. Follow-up with the surgical team continues through photos and video calls.
