Otoplasty Cost in Turkey 2026: What Decides Your Price

Otoplasty in Turkey starts from €1,060, a surgical starting price that covers both ears; at Dr. Semih Yıldız's clinic the price is quoted individually for each case after he has reviewed your photos and medical history. Your written quotation comes with a plan for each ear: one may only lack a fold, while another also has a deep bowl or a prominent lobe, or has been operated on before. Anaesthesia is agreed at the same stage, and as most people return to their hotel the same day, a hospital stay rarely plays a part.

Each correction aims for ears that look natural and symmetrical, and the method is matched to the cartilage of each ear; how the operation is done is explained in our guide to otoplasty in Istanbul. Below are the questions people ask most while planning it.

How does the shape of my ears affect the plan?

It decides how many steps the operation needs, and your written quotation lists the steps planned for each ear. Three features, alone or together, account for most prominent ears:

  • A missing fold: the curved ridge in the upper half of the ear is flat or absent. Permanent stitches recreate it, and this is the core of most corrections.

  • A deep bowl: when the concha, the hollow next to the ear canal, is large, it pushes the whole ear outwards. Making the bowl smaller, or stitching it further back, lets the ear lie nearer the head.

  • A prominent earlobe: a lobe that juts out or is oversized is reshaped at the same time.

An ear with only a missing fold needs fewer steps than one with a deep bowl and a prominent lobe as well, and the two ears of one person often differ. If only one ear stands out, your written quotation states whether a small adjustment on the other side is planned for balance.

Is the plan different for a child?

The steps on the ear are the same, but the setting differs. Children, who can have the operation from about 6 years of age, usually have general anaesthesia, while many adults can choose local anaesthesia with sedation; either way the operation takes 1–2 hours. The starting price is for surgery under local anaesthesia; general anaesthesia costs extra, and your written quotation states which type is planned. A child travels with a parent or guardian, who stays for the whole recovery period, and misses about a week of school, so plan for both.

Why is there usually no hospital night?

Otoplasty is day surgery for most people. After the operation, a protective headband dressing is applied and you go back to your hotel the same day. The hospital stay planned for your operation is part of the surgical price. If a pre-existing condition makes extra tests or an extra night in hospital necessary, these are charged separately at the hospital's rates.

The important appointment comes around day 5–7, when the dressing and stitches are checked or removed and most people are cleared to fly home. That check is the reason for planning about 5–7 days in Istanbul.

What follows is simple but lasts a while: a soft headband worn at night for about 4–6 weeks, most of the swelling gone within a month and the final result at about 3 months.

What if my ears have been operated on before?

A second operation after an earlier otoplasty is planned differently. Whether the ear has moved back, looks too flat or no longer matches the other side, scar tissue, existing stitches and cartilage that was cut or weakened change what is possible. The assessment is therefore more detailed and the plan is made individually. If you can, send the notes from your earlier operation along with your photos.

After any otoplasty, an ear can move back slightly, and a minor correction may then be needed. After an operation with Dr. Semih Yıldız, this is assessed individually: if he considers a correction medically appropriate, he charges no additional surgeon's fee, and the operating-room and material costs are charged at cost. A change that comes only years later, with time and the natural ageing of the tissues, is treated as a new operation and charged as such.

Which health details can change the plan?

Some details from your medical history affect how the operation is planned and timed, so include them from the start:

  • a tendency to thick or raised scars, for example after ear piercing, because the incision lies behind the ear

  • a bleeding tendency, or medicines such as blood thinners, aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil and some herbal products, which may need to be paused

  • smoking or other nicotine use, which should stop at least 4 weeks before surgery and stay stopped for 4 weeks afterwards

  • earlier injuries to the ear, for example from contact sports

For children, a cough, cold or fever shortly before the operation can lead to a short postponement, especially under general anaesthesia, so keep some flexibility in your travel plans.

What does the price include?

The surgical price covers the operation and the care that goes with it in Istanbul:

  • the operation on both ears and the anaesthesia, with general anaesthesia charged as an extra

  • the hospital stay planned for the operation

  • the standard blood tests before surgery

  • the headband dressing and the soft night headband for the weeks that follow

  • the medicines you take home

  • the check-ups in Istanbul, including the dressing check and stitch removal around day 5–7

Your written quotation sets out what is specific to you: which ears are treated, which steps are planned for each (fold, bowl, earlobe) and the type of anaesthesia. Read it before you book and check that it matches what was discussed.

If you would rather not arrange your stay yourself, ask for the full package price as well. It adds hotel accommodation, transfers between the airport, hotel and hospital, and accommodation for a companion, such as the parent or guardian travelling with a child. Flights are not included in either price.

How do I get my personal price?

Request a free online assessment. Send clear photos of your ears from the front, from behind and from both sides, with your hair tied back, together with your medical history. Add any earlier ear surgery and the health details listed above. You receive a personalised plan and a written quotation before booking, and the face-to-face consultation and tests take place in Istanbul before surgery.

Most people return to work or school after about a week. The techniques, the recovery and the risks are described in full on our otoplasty page.

Frequently asked questions

Can earlobe correction be added to the same operation?

Yes. An earlobe that sticks out or looks large can be corrected in the same operation as the rest of the ear. It adds a step to the plan and is listed in the written quotation. Mention your earlobes when you send your photos, so that they are assessed together with the fold and the bowl of each ear.

Why are photos from behind the ears needed?

The view from behind shows how far each ear stands away from the head and how deep the bowl of the ear is, details the front view hides. Together with photos from the front and both sides, it shows which steps each ear needs and how different the two ears are, and the written quotation is based on exactly that.

How is follow-up handled once I am home?

Follow-up continues remotely through photos and video calls, so your progress is checked during the headband weeks and afterwards. The final result is judged at about 3 months, once the ears have settled. If one ear seems to have moved back partly by then, whether a minor correction is needed is discussed in the same way.
